If you are playing the same lottery numbers every week, there is not much that you can do about this. If you are playing the Lottery with one-off entries it is a factor to be taken into account.

The following data shows how many times the same lottery number came up in the following weeks lottery draw:

  • 46.7% – No Repeats
  • 37.7% – Repeat

The table below shows that no repeats, one repeat and two repeats account for over 95% of the draws in the Lottery. Clearly, if any number has been drawn in the past two lottery draws – the chance of it being drawn again are less than 2%. So it is a better idea to select your lottery numbers in the other 98%.
